The European Theatre Today – The Plays 6
Download PDFETC’s “The European Theatre Today” series worked with national juries to select the most innovative and exciting productions from across Europe and introduce them to European audiences and directors. The book is organised by country and presents summaries in English and French for several plays from each country. This edition, Plays 6, reviews around 80 plays from 2002 to May 2004.
Introduction to the original production:
This new edition of The European Theatre Today. The Plays is enriched by the experience of the 5 previous publications. Each play is presented as usual with a summary in French and in English and some essential information to find your way to the author, the director, the text in its original version or its translation, the publisher and so on... For each country, the information has been collected either thanks to an independent reading committee set up by the theatre members and composed of dramaturges, theatre critics, stage directors and theatre managers, or when it was not possible to organise a committee (we do not have members in all the countries) we have selected one theatre professional to choose in his/her country the best and most representative plays in new drama.
This 6th edition offers 133 plays from 34 countries.
This type of work is always a challenge to realise and despite all our efforts it is difficult to avoid erroneous contact details, missing photo credits or possible mistakes.
However, we are very proud to share with you the result of this 2 year's work aiming to deliver a clearer, more simple, more comprehensive and higher quality publication.
